Be Flexible

Guest Post by Adam Davis, SIF Board Member

As I reflect over the past 7-8 years of my involvement on the board of SIF, I can’t help but notice how many times our plans for the organization were not God’s plans. From building a clinic, guest house, and orphanage then having to hastily leave, the journey of missionaries coming and going, to the ongoing turmoil created by political corruption and gangs, it has not always been easy going. BUT God’s plans are not our plans.

In the midst of all the strife in Haiti, Servants in Fellowship continues to “Share Christ by Serving Others”. Our Haitian team is doing so much! From discipleship programs such as multiple ongoing bible studies and women’s conferences to building small homes and replacing roofs to training other Haitians to assemble water filtration systems to give out to families without access to clean well water. Doors continue to open for opportunities to serve and share!

So when things are not turning out how you planned them take a pause. Step back, open your eyes, ears, and heart to possibilities that you otherwise might not have been able to see. Be OK with letting go of your plans that you poured your blood, sweat and tears into. Be comforted knowing that God has bigger plans. Be flexible.
